Standards of what is considered moral or ethical behavior varies from culture to culture. It is therefore a truism that that morality has a relative nature across cultures. This relativity can also be seen within cultures and within individual standards of ethics and morality within those cultures.
Are there moral absolutes? For instance, for some people, is it never permissible to kill, and for others this moral stance is dependent on the circumstance? A less extreme example is gossip. Are there times when it is appropriate to repeat second hand information, even if you have an overall ethical credo that gossip is harmful.
This morality test will provide you an interesting glimpse into your own moral standards; are you ethically consistent or do circumstances or certain biases dictate your moral stance? Please share your findings.
