What kind, dear reader, of smart are you? I am stupid smart. It’s a combination of stupid and smart that cannot be pinned down or predicted in any way. I never know when I am going to do something incredibly daft or somewhat intelligent. You are undoubtedly smarter than I am, so you will likely get something much more better. Could it be that you are business smart, gathering intel amongst the business elite and using your superior networking skills to negotiate your way to excellent synergy?
Maybe you are science smart, digging deep into the meaning of life and searching for clues as to the common origin of all life. To you, the universe is a book, and nature fills its pages with wonder and mysterious beauty. Everywhere you look, you see opportunities for new discoveries. Failure doesn’t even slow you down, and your rigorous perseverance knows no impassible obstacle.
These two don’t fit you, perhaps. Your intelligence lies deeper, a more subtle form that cannot be quantified so easily. You make decisions based on the feeling you get in your gut, and you know how to follow the subtle clues hidden betwixt between. You are intuitively smart, and no situation is beyond your ability to improvise. Solutions come in the moment, without hesitation or forethought. It may not be able to be measured, but your street smarts are valuable in the real world in a way that no book can teach.
