As much as we all love real pumpkins during this Halloween to Thanksgiving season of Harvest, using them for decorations is short-lived. Pumpkins rot pretty quickly, especially once they are cut to make Jack O’ Lanterns. I’m not saying not to have fun with real pumpkins, but here is a crafty Halloween decoration that will last forever!
This alternative pumpkin decoration, will also look beautiful on your Thanksgiving table. Only one part of it will go bad eventually, but it can easily be replaced. So, if you are tired of all the pumpkin mess or you just want to add something that you can pull out every year, watch the DIY video below.
This really clever and attractive craft requires a few items: a collection of Mason jar lids, orange spray paint and newspaper or a large piece of cardboard to spray your lids. You will see how to string them together to form a pumpkin, once they are dry. Once you have turned them into a pumpkin shape, you can use cinnamon sticks to form the stem and give off that homey cinnamon scent. If you like, you can put a little light in the center creating a Jack O’ Lantern for Halloween, and to add to the festive ambience on Thanksgiving.
