A Delcious Potato Recipe Everyone Should Try.

الصفحة الرئيسية

Potatoes are awesome because they pair well with just about anything depending on how you cook and prepare them. A great burger is made even better by the right fries and a prime cut of steak becomes practically heavenly with the perfect baked potato.
A simple potato doesn’t just have the ability to taste amazing, it can transform a whole entire meal and take it to the next level. They can be served hot or cold and who doesn’t love them mashed, fried, baked, steamed, hashed, or chipped. However, there is one major downside to them and that is how darn long it takes to thoroughly cook a potato!
We all know that the easiest and fastest way to cook a potato is by microwaving it. All you have to do is throw it in, press the potato button, and several minutes later out pops a well zapped tater. As easy as it may be, it’s most definitely not the healthiest or tastiest way to cook a potato. You end up sacrificing a lot of flavor and texture in the process and microwaving leaves you with a deflated, rubbery spud. It’s just not the same as a real oven baked, slowly home cooked potato.
There is another option besides an hour in the oven or a 5 minute nuke job and it’s also a healthy alternative. All you need is a slow cooker and a bag of potatoes so check out the accompanying YouTube video from the OnePotChefShow because it shows you exactly what to do and how to get it done! The following is a list of basic instructions for you to quickly reference and follow along to:
1. Wash and scrub the potatoes well.
2. Prep and cut off any little dings or sprout marks, then prick a few holes in the skin with a fork.
3. Lightly brush on a coating of olive oil and sprinkle a bit of salt before wrapping each one up tightly in a piece of tinfoil.
4. Place them all in the slow cooker and secure the lid on top.
5. Cook on low for 7-8 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours.
6. Go about your day, get some things done, and when you return home the potatoes will be tender, evenly cooked, and as fluffy as an oven baked potato.
This is a practically effortless method of cooking so the next time you’re having potatoes for dinner try it out. Please pass this helpful tip along to friends and family and add a little more convenience to their lives.
